233 iMac identification help needed

Hi there!
I have an old blueberry 233 imac. I would like to install tiger on it....
I know I need to max out the ram in order to do it but am confused.
Apple specs list two different imac 233's. See below
Notes: 144-pin SDRAM M6709LL/A ; 32MB - 128MB M6709LL/B ; 32MB - 256MB

I can't find the m6709LL/ number anywhere. How can I figure out if I have the one that will go to 256MB?
It is Family 620-1203 and has the number M4984.
When I search by the serial number I get the info for the 266 G3 mini tower which is not what I am looking at.
K3834737BCFA is inside the first level of case removal.
Apple spec says that I can install OS X but will it take Tiger?
I just want it for web and mail and need the simplicity of Tiger.

Thanks,
Robert

If it's a Blueberry, it's a 266 or a 333. No 233's.

It'll take 2 PC266 144-pin SO-DIMMs, max 256mb each.

My rule of thumb is "If you don't know what you're doing,
ask the expert." Call or e-mail a reputable vendor like OWC
or Crucial and tell the person what you have and what you
want. Let him or her pick the exact RAM.

The iMac Bondi Blue is 233MHz.

Memory - Rev A 384MB - Rev B 512MB
PC66 144 pin SO-DIMM

Max OS 10.3.9

Check the System Profiler. If it has 6MB of VRAM it's a Rev B model.

it's probably bondi blue (that dark-greenish blue of the original iMac) then. either way: I'd try to install _Panther_ on that iMac, regardless of the exact speed, as it gives you most of the functions (the most important ones anyway) with less RAM requirements. Panther is okay with 256 MB RAM for light use, Tiger, however, is not. In my experience.

You are correct! It is the Bondi Blue. Thanks! bobw seems to be saying that it will take 256Mb DIMMS. The apple site says 128MB. Can I get a confirmaion on that? It has 32MB now
