should i get airport extreme

i am getting high speed soon, from my dreaded dial up. i want to go to my first router situation. well is the airport extreme a good choice for wirless to my iMac. i will be using it mostly for that but will my brothers windows laptop he brings home sometimes work ok, can i hook my wifi skype phone to it, and will it work ok, how about a ps3?

Apple's WiFi hardware is compatible with other standard-compliant WiFi hardware. You use your Mac (or a Windows machine) to set the network up. Other clients are as easy as their network setup tools are. Basically, it's a nice solution that works fine.
