You will need to talk to an ISP or mobile telephone provider who provide wireless broadband in your area.

Why not Comcast broadband, as it sounds like you already have it? I have Comcast and am wireless, and have no problems. I assume you have an Airport card in your Ti Book.

You'd connect a wireless router to your Comcast modem, then surf from it. Any brand will do, some better, some not so good.

It doesn't matter if your ISP offers wireless internet or not -- the ISP is not what determines whether you can "go wireless" or not.

The only thing you need to "go wireless" is a router that offers wireless connectivity. Check out the D-Link DIR-625, or the Linksys WRT54G router, or even Apple's AirPort Extreme... all will work with your existing internet connection and allow both wired and wireless computers to connect.
