Dell Monitor

I am trying to connect a Dell monitor to a PowerPC G4. I am having problems finding a suitable adaptor (see pics attached).

The first picture shows the Dell end (no Ali G jokes please). I believe this is a DVI D Male (Single Link).

The adaptor pictured below shows the connector type/size on the back of the G4 (VGA Female?).

Does anyone know where to get it?

It is a DVI plug. Which machine are you trying to connect it to? Many Macs have DVI already, I don’t know about the particular machine you’re referring to but it’s not just an adaptor issue if it does not have DVI.

The image above is a DVI-I not a DVI-D.

The connector cable (that came with the Dell monitor) has a Male DVI-D Single Link connector at each end.

The G4 has a Female VGA socket and another socket that I cannot recognize, but suspect it is a Female DVI socket of some description (but not DVI-D).

The bottom line is that the Dell connector will not fit into the back of the G4. I need an adapter that has a Female DVI-D Single Link connector at one end and a Male VGA connector at the other.

Here it is (steadier hand this time).

In fact I can see that it is a DVI socket, but the Dell connector (see very first picture above) will not fit this.

Yes, you need an ADC to DVI adapter. It's just a simple adapter. You _don't_ need the DVI to ADC adapter, which is the type with the extra white box w/other connectors - much more expensive, and is the opposite of what you need.
