mac book pro batteries

Hello

Ive had my Mac Book Pro for about 2 years not and I only seem to get about of hour worth of use(with screen all the way down) with only my battery.

I downloaded Battery Health Monitor and I noticed that my battery started with a capacity of 5,500 and is now 1846(only 34%). Is this normal?

I wasn't expecting it to last forever but I'm angry that Apple probably wont cover it at all. I had a dell battery that lasted for much longer.

Thanks

What is the cycle count for the battery?
(About this Mac > more info > opens system profiler, look under battery).
If it gets high (say over 300) it is expected it will slowly deteriote.
Have you ever calibrated the battery?

This for people who want to know how is your battery and it is called Coconut Battery. I thought I would just put that out there.

Also you can get replacement batteries at FastMac.

The Full Charge Capacity shows that you might get around an hour of battery life with that battery, if you are lucky.
A brand new battery for your MacBook Pro will show around 5500 MaH, and you would expect at least 3 times the battery life on a charge, if you replace the battery.

High charge cycle count, plus the low full charge capacity, means that your battery is depleted (worn out), and needs to be replaced. Not covered under warranty,AFAIK

There was a battery recall by Apple for certain batteries that shipped with the MacBook Pros... check your serial number to see if your battery is one of the affected ones, and if it is, head on down to your local Apple store to inquire about a free replacement:
