What if iSync does not support your cellphone?

Hi! I have a Samsung M300 cellphone and was disappointed to learn that it is not supported by iSync for address book, calendar syncing. I checked several add on utilities like BitPIM, BluePhone Elite, Nova Media iSync plugins and none seem to support this phone. Should I give up hope of synching? Even with a cable? Thanks for any info.

I don't know that tool, but the way I see it, it's worth it to buy a phone that goes through iSync directly. SonyEricsson, Nokia. Those work really fine. Or an iPhone, of course.

I'm still with a Nokia 6310i. It's an old plain triband phone that works with my car kit. Car kit charges phone in the cradle unlike a bluetooth unit. But it won't sync with Apple.

It's one of the things I do with Parallels/Vista on my MacBook. The Nokia suite backup software is Windows only.

I know this doesn't apply to the non-programmer types out there, but it is possible to make just about any phone work with iSync by writing your own plug-in:

http://developer.apple.com/documenta...section_1.html

It requires extensive knowledge of your phone's communication protocols, which relegates it only to the really experienced or adventurous.
