Powerbook G4 doesn't recognize USB sticks?

Hey,
My powerbook G4 recognizes my IPod cable and printer cable through the USB ports, but won't recognize any USB sticks or card readers.
Any idea what is wrong, and hints for how to fix it?

You know that the problem is not your USB ports. It has to be the media in the Flash drives. How are try formatted?

these flash drives used to work just fine though? btw, what do you mean when you say "how are try formatted".
