| I need to upgrade my OSX hard drive. I need to know if can just install the new hard drive. Copy the existing data from my boot hard drive to the new hard drive and then change them out. |

| You should include your system info. Carbon Copy Cloner will clone the new drive. http://www.versiontracker.com

| What model Mac do you want to perform the surgery on? It would be easier to back up those important files, and downloaded installers - on Cd or Zip disk. Then install the new hard drive, then install OS and applications. Then you know you have a fresh system with fresh programs installed.
