scanner crashes all apps!
I have a new canon Lide 110 scanner, connected to my Imac running OS X 10.4.11
this model should work with 10.4.11 and that's why I bought it.
It has worked alright for quite a while, but now it just seems to crash every application associated with it.
the computer and Image Capture can recognise the scanner but when I try to open it from of its own canon software, it crashes almost immediately upon opening. I have reinstalled the software more than a couple of times, unplugged everything and back again (that's the only time when it makes some noice), deleted preferences, but to no avail.
Same with Image Capture. It crashes just after a while when I click "scan".
it also would not let me select folders etc.
what could be the problem???

In July 2011, Canon released updated MacOS X 10.4-compatible software for the CanoScan LiDE110. Have you installed it?

I have tried installing the latest drivers from canon, but again all tree canon apps crash on opening and the same for Image Capture.
I didn't try to uninstall the previous versions though, maybe I should?
