Clamshell iBook display problem...

I'm going for 4 straight issues resolved here folks...

My friend has a Clamshell iBook. (graphite grey) He only gets 800x600. What's up with that? Can clamshell iBooks not view in 1024 x 786???

Any ideas?

Thanks,
zilla.

Yes. Unfortunately, the original iBooks cannot display anything above 800x600

yeah, bummer about the display. Also, on my tangerine clam, there's only 4 megs of VRAM so I can't use keynote, even to see if I don't want to use it...

The clam shelled iBooks (refered to as 2nd SE iBooks) were only produced with 12.1" 24-bit SVGA displays which were limited to 800x600. You can hotwire it to get 1024x768 resolutions, but from my understanding it doesn't only take time: it takes $$$.

Tell your friend to go here for fun: http://www.lowendmac.com/pb2/ibook-se2.shtml
