| GVP 52x24x52x FireWire CD Burner
I just recieved my new GVP 52x24x52x FireWire CD Burner and so far am very happy with it. WOW! It is F A S T!!! I can burn a full CD in just under 3 minutes. From the sound of it, there is a lot of wind swirling around inside that case while reading and writing. I have an old Blue & White G3 500MHz and I never thought this thing could read/write CDs this fast. I just retired my SCSI 6x CD Burner for the newer FireWire Burner. The 6x CD Burner couldwrite a disk in about 17 to 18 minutes. Importing songs into iTunes using the AIFF encoder gives 29.7X reading! I'm pretty sure the drive speed is faster than my 100MHz system bus. Get them while they last at http://www.clubmac.com/ for $150. This price includes Toast 5 Lite (Mac OS 9 ) I think this is a pretty good value.I've had a GVP 80GB external FireWire Hard Drive for a year now with absolutely no problems. |
