iDVD error! Help needed asap

So I was burning a DVD using iDVD, and for the first time ever I received an error. When it was almost through the burning process, it ejected the DVD and posted this message:

"Errors were found during the burning process... The recording device reported the media error: Power calibration area error. (0x73, 0x03.)"

Looking on the physical back of the DVD, it doesn't appear that anything was even burned to the surface, yet it was almost done? Even more strange, it will burn fine to a DVD-RW that I've got, but any DVD-R (Apple branded 2x) it displays this error. In all my days of making DVDs, I've never seen this error, or any error for that matter.

Bottom line though, I have to have this DVD burned to a permanent DVD-R, playable in most DVD players by tommorrow. If anyone can provide some troubleshooting, I would greatly appreciate it.

I would use something other than an Apple blank.
