Unhappy iBook battery completely draining whilst off?

We seem to have a little problem with our iBook's battery completely draining whilst it's off overnight and the time keeps re-setting on it as well.
Is this normal or a common problem & do you recmommend we take it back where we got it so they can look at it?

That is abnormal. It should not lose more than 5-10 % overnight when it's at sleep mode, thus when it's off, it should conserve the battery even more.
It sounds like a good idea to have them have a look. Depending on where you are, if they need to do anything, an apple store can probably do things faster (like check the battery, change it if needed). Are there any Apple Stores close to where you live?

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do.

My fiancee bought it from PC World in Thurrock and as far as i know they have Mac specialists there so we'll give them a try later.
Thanks for the prompt feedback, I'll let you know how it goes!

Would zapping the pram help? If the clock is being reset everytime. Are you putting it to sleep (better than shutting it down)?

I only shut mine down if I have to restart it after running a cron job or installing software (or if I'll be out of town and not using it for a few days). Otherwise, I let it sleep. Starts up quicker and you don't have the extra wear and tear of the hard drive starting up cold.
