| Airport problems
Hey guys and gals... I've got a 15" PB Ti and I'm trying to get the airport to connect at home. The problem is home is at my friends house with a comcast cable internet connection and a linksys wireless router that won't let me get on. Comcast has turned the security on so no one can join unless they are allowed. Here is where the problem begins... I can turn off this filter and get the airport to give me connection bars but I cannot get onto the internet. Under the comcast program is where I can turn the filter off and check for connected computers, when I do I can not see the PBook at all. Comcast nor apple will help me because its the others fault. Thanks Justin |

Ok, I am not very familiar with this comcast stuff. Am living in europe and we don't have such ISPs. However, actually your problem has nothing to do with the comcast connection (if comcast stands for the ISP) but the linksys router. You will need to connect to the router and allow your MAC-address (media access control not apple mac ) to log to the system. To me it sounds there is such a MAC filter. Ask your friend about the filters he has turned on, so you can add your tibook to the network. Another thing could be a WEP code. Also make sure you are using the right key for that encryption. But if you did get a signal on your tibook, it shouldn't have anything to do with the WEP..
