Sleeping Mac Snores!!!

Hi all. I recently added a Lacie Firewire 800 card to my G4 Dual 867 Mirror Door Mac, OSX 10.3.5. When I used to put the Mac to sleep all was quiet, but since I added the new hardware, I put it to sleep, it shuts down the hard drives, display etc. but the fans keep going. They only stop if I Shut Down the computer. The firewire card works a treat. Any ideas? Regards. Darren

And if you pop out the firewire 800 card, all works as normal?
