| I have used Carbon Copy, I've created the image and have mounted it but when I try to copy the folders to my new drive it says I need special permisions even though I have set myself to 'owner' on all the folders? ![]()

| Should I try to burn the contents to a dvd and try copying them from the dvd to the new drive?

| I think CCC has a restore facility too...? Maybe not, it's been a while since I used it. you could also go into Terminal and do this: sudo cp -fr <drag/drop CCC drive icon>[space]<drag/drop destination drive icon> ...and enter your admin password when prompted. I think that'll do it - though not if you're booted from the destination drive...

| You shouldn't have to create an image, just clone the drive.

| I changed the preferences and it cloned the drive rather than make an image, it worked perfect, thanks for all the help once again! ![]()
