| Hum from Power Supply I noticed this for the first time this morning. When I plug in my PowerBook's charger, I hear a constant hum from the power supply. It's not very loud, but it's audible from 6 feet away or so. The laptop still charges fine, and everything seems to be working properly, but I'm pretty sure this noise is new. Should I bother to get it replaced, and, more importantly, is this dangerous?

| At my work, which is a small amusement park, I often have to plug the bumper cars into their chargers. I have noticed that occasionally one will hum louder than the others, and maybe vibrate the floor a bit, but the cars charge just fine. So your Powerbook should be fine; I can't imagine the charger exploding or anything, anymore than the ones at work. If it bothers you a lot... replace it. Otherwise just leave it.
