| i have a blackberry 7290. (actually most don't have bluetooth built-in - 7290 is one of the few) but I won't every use anything else again. I freakin' love the thing. There are so many hacks and tricks you can do with this thing. to be able to SSH into my Xserve at home and then run BitchX irc from the server and hang out in the mac channels is worth the price of admission. you can also get a version of Opera for the 7290 so you don't have to use the crappy browser that they come with. PocketMac works great with iCal, (even with multiple calendars - they ALL show up on the blackberry) Address Book etc all through iSync. the only issue I wish was resolved is that iSync doesn't support Bluetooth syncing with the Blackberry yet. |

| Well, I picked up the Blackberry 7100 (t-mobile flavor) today. while it's a great phone, and the predictive text system is utterly sick how well it works, the connectivity issues bother me. it's got Bluetooth, but it's really only for pairing a BT headset. I can pair it with my powerbook, but there are no functions with the powerbook pairing. I can use pocketmac to sync w/ ical, add book, tasks, etc, but it's via the usb cable. I don't want to step backward and be tethered to my powerbook to sync my phone... I'll give it a few more days before I decide if I keep or return it. I'd kill for the treo 650, but my wife would kill ME if I spent that much on a phone... we'll see I guess.

| i was thinking about getting a Treo 650 w/ Verizon when my contract is up but the whole cellphone Virus coming to the west coast of the US "Variants of the Cabir virus, which infects bluetooth capable mobile phones running the Symbian operating system, have been spreading the past few months. A version of Cabir has turned up in two Nokia 6600s that were on public display in a Santa Monica, California shop window. The phones could have easily been spreading the virus to other bluetooth devices as they passed by, no additional instances have been reported."
