| RAM advice... Looks like I'll be getting some more RAM soon, I'll have to get rid of the 256mb card in my Powerbook. Anyhow, I used crucial.com/uk to find the best RAM for my Powerbook 12 inch 1.33 Ghz. I found a 1GB DDR PC2700 stick for £225. But then I checked an iBook 12 inch 1.2 Ghz and it came up with a 1GB DDR PC2100 stick, for £123. Questions are, would the PC2100 work on my Pbook? They are both 200 pin. And also, is there much of a difference? Thanks.

| Your iBook has a 133 MHz memory bus, so it will use 266MHz DDR SO-DIMMs (PC2100), up to 1GB in the one slot. PC2700 is fine, but there is no advantage over PC 2100 in your system. Use the cheaper, if that's also from Crucial. (EDIT) - I will leave this wrong info above, as a message to others like me, who jump to wrong conclusions. So, the correct memory for a Powerbook 12" 1.33 GHz must be a minimum PC2700, it cannot use pc2100!! sorry about the confusion here...

| Your pBook will perform better with the 2700. It will not upclock the 2100. Outpost.com has excellent prices on both and will ship to the UK.

| According to this page, your PowerBook requires PC2700 RAM: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=14870 The iBook G4 12" and PowerBook G4 12" require different kinds of RAM -- they are not interchangeable (although PowerBook RAM may work in an iBook, since the PC2700 RAM would most likely clock down to PC2100).

| It's only £123 on Crucial.com right now. Just buy the standard PC2700 RAM and not the 'special' Powerbook stuff. The specification for the RAM is exactly the same, but it costs about half as much. http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/Part...64X335&cat=RAM |

I wouldn't try sticking PC2100 in that PowerBook, but you never know!
