[HOW TO] Put your mac to sleep

...without going through menus or scripts. put simply:

alt+apple+eject.

no i just found while trying to force eject a cd stuck on a scratch. incidentally, is there a way to force eject?

OR simply push the power button (don't hold it down), and then press the 's' key....

Open the following folders:
/System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras/

in order to find and double click the:
Eject.menu

This will put an eject icon on your menu bar.

I got an even simpler way: Close the lid. (Of course, this doesn't work well on a desktop. )

Force eject is easy: hold the mouse button down when you're booting up.
