| in 10.4.7 (from an admin login), all I did was click "get info" for the boot drive, then unlocked the prefs.. gave myself ownership (it was set to "system") and that was it.. set the view options to what I wanted for the boot drive, then restarted the Mac.. Went back and checked random folders, and every folder was set to my new prefs.. No clue how long that will last, but at least it works for now.. |

| PDF file is corrupt. Also, I just upgraded to 10.5, and I'm sort of confused how to make individual windows stick in list vs icon view. If I switch from list to icon view, and then navigate to it's parent folder (which was previously in list view), it to now shows in icon view. This is a very jarring user experience, IMHO.
