I don&#039;t have my files on iTunes because (a) the computer that contained them was stolen last month and (b) the hard drive backup just died yesterday, just after I retrieved it from storage ... and the day after my iPod erased itself.<br />
<br />
The iPod has absolutely nothing on it, so it can&#039;t have accidentally synced with the new computer (which has a few mp3s on it).<br />
<br />
Reset does nothing; I don&#039;t want to restore yet, obviously. All iTunes software on iPod and iTunes...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[So here&#039;s the deal. I just updated to iTunes 7.4.2 and now my iPod will not display my playlists/music. When I click on the iPod icon in iTunes and show the display tab it says that I have 70.4 BG of data in &quot;Other&quot; no music, no movies.<br />

So I then double click on my iPod on my desktop only to see that what is on that directory is still just what I had put on there for data transfer and storage. I really have the feeling that I just need to redirect my music to another directory. I haven&#039;t...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[My iPod touch is not responding.  I can only turn it off.  When turned on, it only displays the USB connector pointing to the iTunes icon (i.e. connect to iTunes).<br />
When connected to iTunes (via USB on back of iMac), it showed up only once and said &quot;you must restore&quot;.<br />
When I tried to restore, it said I was unable to restore.<br />
Now, it will not even show up within iTunes.<br />

When attempting to sync with Itunes everything works fine unless I also check &quot;sync&quot; with Iphoto i get &quot;unknown error (-50)&quot;. Ipod support had me just initailize my ipod and start over, which worked until i tried to have it update Iphoto as well. I only have 1.5 gigs of pictures in Iphoto and 27 gigs available. When I enter the cover flow menu, most of my covers are not shown.<br />

For numurous albums the cover suddenly pops up when I really start playing a song from that album, next to the song itself.<br />

If I connect it to a PC, I can see all  my songs and play them with software on the PC because I used the PC to copy the songs from the PC and I can play the songs when it is connected to the Mac 4 but I cannot play anything when it is not connected to a computer. <br />
