| ipod nano does not detect music I recently got an ipod nano, but for some reason itunes does not seem to detect it. I tried just dropping music files straight onto the device but it still dosnt appear on the nano. I use mac OS X 10.3. Any ideas? |

| did you try authenticatng the songs first, play them all once(not the whole song, just for a second) and then try to put them on the ipod using itunes |

| it sounds like the nano has been formatted, so now it's acting like a usb2 external disk. try running the ipod updater on the ipod CD's that came with it, and press the "restore" button. it will make the usb2 disk into an iPod again.
