My Ipod click wheel is broken

I have a 20GB ipod from last year
I need help badly, my ipod click wheel is not working properly. half the screen is not responding, so i can only use part of the click wheel to scroll. also sometimes the click wheel scrolls up and down without me being anywhere near it.
im not sure if i can buy a new one or if it just need clean or something else so please help me
