    PC to Mac

I just got a new Macbook and I was wondering if it was possible to transfer the songs from my 20G 4th gen iPod to it. My iPod is configured for PC seeing as how it was being used with an IBM thinkpad.

I found this thread where someone was looking to do pretty much the opposite and they were told that it would need formatting (thereby erasing all the songs!) or copying the music file. So I was looking for more details. To copy the file I'd just plug it in to my macbook, find that file somewhere and copy it?

They also mentioned networking and well I'm embarassed to say that my two computers are already on a network! But I don't know how to access the files from my PC from my Mac. I found in system preferences (I'm translating here) a place where I have internet and network. And I enabled windows sharing in the sharing folder. But what do I do now? (new to Mac as you can see).

Thanks so much for any help. Loving the new mac. Just got to figure some things out but clicking everything to see what it does is fun too

'And I enabled windows sharing in the sharing folder ...' - while possible, it is not advisable.

Learn how to turn 'sharing ON', on the Windoze based PC; and, via 'Finder's 'Go, Go to Server...' menu item - mount the PC's volume(s) and / or folder(s) onto the Mac's 'Desktop' - (with / without dragging such mounted items) onto the 'Dock' for quick and easy navigation through the PC.
