Simply try...? Certainly depends on whether something else inside has gone kaputt. (I'm a bit irritated by your choice of emoticon for this thread... I'd frown quite a bit, personally.)

If it's under a year old, or has AppleCare, you might want to try getting it replaced by Apple. I doubt that they'll replace it.. but you never know. You could use the nano as a disk drive, if it still powers on. Otherwise, if you turn it on and press the play button, a song should play. If nothing plays, it's probably toasted.

I read a review early when the Nano came out where some geeks stress-tested it using a car. They ran over the Nano twice with a fairly large coupe, cracking and breaking the screen, but music still played.

Like Fryke said, why don't you just try?

My friend washed his nano in the washing machine and his screen didn't work but his music played fine, you may have broken the motherboard (try pressing Menu + Action together and holding The iPod to you ear listening for buzzing.
if you hear buzzing then your nano's motherboard isn't broken
if you haven't tried pressing Menu and Action Before try putting the headphones in and press play once only.
if you hear music your screen is broken.
