Help: Which Earphones Should I Get?

I want a good, comfy, high-quality sounding earphones. I've narrowed it down to these two. Which one do you think is better?

This one:

...or this one?

The first ones are the new, improved iPod headphones, and the second ones are in-ear, so it somewhat depends on preference (in or out of ear). Both have a fair amount of negative reviews. Personally, I'd go with the Apple one, but that's just me. I buy things more on design, less on performance.

I picked up a set of Maxell earbuds which are very similar to the first (the new Apple ones) at Walgreens for $8. They're fine. I don't have a set of the $29 Apple ones to compare the sound against but I figure that I can break/lose four of the Maxell ones for the price of the Apple ones.

Apple is making a bundle $$$$$$$$$$ on theirs.

edit: I've read complaints from people who say the Apple ones fall out of their ears. The Maxell ones have the stems offset, not straight down, so they fit more naturally to the shape of the ear.

The new headphones work great with my new iPod Nano. They don't fall out during runs and they feel great. Like Eric said, the design is very nice. The bud is a little smaller than the old one and the stem fits naturally in the ear "canal."

If I were you I would go with the first option because I own the newest Ipod Nano and it came with those earbuds and the sound is so good and crystal clear that the first time I used them I litteraly could not beleive my ears

Oh, this is an old post. I didn't realize people were still replying. Yeah, I went with the Sony in-ear earphones, and I'm very happy.
