Having video issues with 80gb ipod video

I recently bought an 80gb ipod video, downloaded a few videos, watched them, renamed them, sync-ed, now I am unable to watch them. At first I thought it was because I renamed them but then I downloaded a few free videos and they won't play on my ipod either. All of the videos play in itunes and quick time. Any ideas of what the problem is?

Try taking them off of the iPod, and putting the new renamed ones on it.

are the videos visible on the iPod, and what format what are the videos?
