| Load iPod Classic firmware to 5.5Gen iPod video?
Is it possible with an app like Alterpod? Is there a place to get the firmware from the new 80GB iPod Classic? Thanks

I don't think so. My guess would be that a little bit about the hardware has been changed as well, not only the firmware. Plus: Why would you want to? It offers more bloat, makes the iPod feel slow when compared to the 5G and 5.5G iPods and doesn't really offer more feature-wise. CoverFlow, basically, and that's said to be jaggy and slow on the 6G iPods.

i said that ![]() but yes. i'd probably actually buy a cheap 60gb 5G and stick a 160gb hdd in when the prices dropped.

I know you said that. But I perfectly agree. ... The 5G/5.5G iPods function very well. There's no need, in my opinion, to "improve their UI".

Oh, the 6G iPods are slow? I didn't care about coverflow, I just like the look of the new GUI. I'll stick with the 5.5G firmware then.
