| Unexplained IPOD Pauses
Hi guys, new member here with just a few questions about my IPOD. I recieved an new 30GB video Ipod with my Macbook a few months ago. Its worked great for a while, until a few days ago. Now, the Ipod will pause by itself, even if I lock it. Its not like its skips or anything like that, it just pauses for some reason. It even has the little pause indication in the corner of the screen. The only thing I can think of is that the headphone jack is screwy or something, and is causing the Ipod to think the headphones have become unplugged. It hasn't been dropped or anything like that. Any help would be great, Thanks Again |

What happens if you play without headphones in? Is the iPod under a year old?

I didn't even think of that, but I did try it and its the same thing. It just pauses. Sometimes, it runs fine for hours, but then just starts pausing every few seconds. Other times, its starts right when I start using it. And yes, the Ipod is under a year old, I just want to avoid having to excange it or something. I want that to be a last resort

I would try these troubleshooting steps: http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/ If none of those does anything, you may have to bring it in. They will replace it for free in the first 6 months, and for $30 in the next 6.
