Do you have more than one iPod connecting to your iTunes library?
Does this iPod have the same NAME as another iPod that you use?
Try changing the name, so any iPod that you use have different names.
If that doesn't help, then try RESTORING your ipod through iTunes...Serendipity is a lucky guess !
