Is it possible to get the rom from my Performa 460 because my screen is out of order? Post# 1

I own 2 computers from Apple. One working but in French(powerpc) and one out of order in Dutch. Is it possible to get the rom from my Performa 460 because my screen is out of order?

I have been to Recupc to resolve the problem. They were 30 or 40 2nd hand pc's and they have found within the bunch a 7200 with the most yellow screen I have seen in whole my life. It was beyond closing time so I had to leave the store. The computer was untested and I have seen no cables. The cable from the 460 is fixed at the screen. The computer costs 10€. The only thing that is needed is to have it in Dutch.

First, the monitor is separate from the CPU (case). Second that is a 68030 processor. Old and only accommodates up to OS 7.6

A smoking machine could be a number of problems. More than likely it could be the power supply. You could take in your machine and have them do a hardware test on it. Then you will know for sure exactly what is damaged.
The rom is soldered to the board. If you know how to undo the solder and being careful about it so you don't damage it, it can be done.

Then you have to put it on the new board. Carefully.
