| Can You Set Duplexing Speed In Os 9? At my work we are running OS X 10.3 on all our machines except our Splash server for our Xerox Docucolor which is still running OS 9 (for the Splash software). Our machines were having trouble with the Windows 2000 network switch so we had to set all of our machines to manual 100mbps/full duplex and that resolved the issue. The problem is that now the OS 9 Splash responds very poorly to our print jobs. It takes about 15 minutes to print a job that used to take less than 30 seconds. The problem therein must lie in the fact that OS 9 autonegotiates the ethernet/duplex speed. In system profiler, the system shows it is running 100mbps/half duplex. This machine has the capability of running full duplex, and the switch it is on is running 100mbps/full duplex. Does anyone know how you can set the duplexer manually on OS 9 and force it to run full duplex? All I have found on the internet are extensions that force OS 9 to use 10mbps/half duplex. Does anyone know of a 100mpbs/full duplex extension? Help! and Thanks! |

| Using this updated Duplexer utility, you can set your G4's NIC to the desired speed. There is an older Duplexer utility released for the B/W G3's and some PowerBooks that will not work with the G4's. Make sure you're using the correct one as the older Duplexer extensions will wreak havoc on your G4's NIC. http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macos/325
