What Mac OS version are you running?

If you're running X, then be careful that you're not running the Classic version of IE (that is, if you installed OS X on a previously used OS 9 installation. Most Macs now only have the OS X version, if at all).

Either way, I say dump IE on OS X since it hasn't been updateed for a while. Go with either Safari, Camino (more Mac-behaved version of Mozilla), Firefox, or Opera.

As for IM, I recommend Adium. It's a multiprotocol IM client like Trillian or Gaim, but for the Mac. Actually, Adium is the OS X port of Gaim. Unless you're using a feature that MSN requires, I recommend using Adium.

Ive tried using the Internet Explorer that comes preloaded in panther, runs ok, some times its alot slower then safari, but ive noticed in safari that some times when im on my email i can view emails but not reply, in IE it works. But sometimes pic files and other files dont load correctly or all the way.....

But Safari is what i use, i think its a bit faster and more viewing space cause ti doenst have all that other Bookmarks and history toolbars linked to it like IE does.

You could also run iCab 3.0 or WamCom Browser (basically Mozilla 1.3 for OS 9). While iCab is much faster, WamCom tends to be more stable at time than iCab.
