G3 DVD playback troubleshoot

Beige G3, Sonnet G4 ZIF, 386MB ram,Matshita DVD-ROM,Maxtor 60GB 7200 HD,Rage128 w/AppleDecoder DaughterCard-cannot get DVD playback to work. Video card will not work properly without Decoder card-All icons mostly hidden on screen, Update downloaded From ATI-"DVD Cannot play on this Hardware", when I remove rage 128 I cannot even get Apple DVD Player 2.7 to work-"Does not work on this Machine" error.

What version of QuickTime are you running?
