Unable to boot into 8.6 on external HD

I am running a PowerBook G4 running 10.4.8 and am trying to boot into OS 8.6 so I can run a program in Farsi that is not on OS 10. I threw away the computer but kept the HD expecting I could just boot into 8.6 but it is not working. Any suggestions?

TIA

Clyde

The oldest system a G4 PowerBook will boot into is 9.1, and that's only for the first G4 PowerBook.
