undoing changes made to the computer

i recently ugraded from 9.0.4 to 9.0.1, but now when i try to open programs, they don't run, it says that filesa re missing..i tried burning the additional smi files to upgrade to a higher version but when i copied to the mac it copied them as bin files, is there any way that i can undo the changes through restore, or how can i burn the smi files on a windows pc to use on the mac? any help is appreciated, thanks.

Cheryl will become famous soon enough
First, I think you upgraded to 9.1 - (not 9.0.1)

What programs do not open? What additional .smi files are you trying to use?
How did you do the upgrade? CD? Download? Software Update?

Those .bin files can be opened if you have Stuffit Expander. All you need is the free standard version 5.5.
