sims 2 dvd backup

Does anyone know how I can backup my legally purchased Sims 2 DVD. Its just a matter of time until it gets worn. I will not pay for another copy or any ASPYR software ever again until they institute a replacement disk policy, or I'm able to make a safe copy I can put away for safe keeping.

Although I work for Feral Interactive, I know Aspyr have replaced worn or damaged disks. Brad Oliver of Aspyr has said as much in the IMG forums. We have a similar policy at Feral if you damage your disk you can email us and we will give you an address to send the disk to for replacement.

As such you don't need to make "backups" as you can get a replacement if it wears out. If you have any questions I would send Aspyr an email and see what they respond with.

I wish it was so

I've already emailed ASPYR. I wouldn't be so irresponsible as to post without first contacting them.

They basically blew me off. Too paraphrase them "too bad, we did this to cover ourselves, the honest people like you are SOOT".

I'd love to see the e-mail you received from our support department. Please forward it to me at brad@aspyr.com.

Edwin was correct: we do have a DVD replacement program in place if your disc becomes damaged or unreadable, so this surprises me greatly.
