Where can I find mainstream game demos?

I've just got my used PowerBook G4 (17"), and I'd like to see how it perform in gaming. But I was a little suprised when I realized the difficulty to find the official mac demo versions of the latest years most popular 3d games. Mainly, I'd like to know where I can download a legal copy of the Quake4 demo, let alone any Quake. What about RTCW? C'mon guys, do I have to buy the games?

Congratulations on your new used Mac purchase.

Have you tried checking the official sites for these games in their downloads section? You can also try Inside Mac Games for more information on games for your Mac.

You might want to check out MacGameFiles for Demos, Updates and the likes. Quake 4 has no demo for the Mac BTW, maybe it'll come later, but so far there is none
