The only warning I have is that making system level changes like that will limit the type of support you have on the server, if you needed it, from Apple, etc. Any specific reasons for the upgrade?![]()
I am seriously considering upgrading Postfix on 10.3.9 server from the original Postfix-13... (or Postfix 2.0.x) to Postfix-144 (I am assuming it is the Mac OS version for Postfix 2.2.x)
Are there any specific steps besides the Makefile, Make, etc. that usually come in the "install" instructions?
Directions, HOWTO URL suggestions, or even warnings are appreciated.

To take advantage of any new restrictions and maps in Postfix. As for Apple support, I am not overlly concerned about that.
Yhank you for your reply.

I've posted a thread on upgrading Postfix on the client, but it applies to the server as well. If you want to replace the Apple version completely just drop the -DDEF parameters ;; and if you don't want MySQL support you can just drop the whole 'make -f ...' section.
