File Sharing Disabled

Why is it when I go to Workgroup Manager, logged in as root, that File Sharing/permissions options are greyed out and totally unavailable? Makes no sense!

I'm trying to create temporary server access to an off-site user through ftp, while only giving that person "Read Only" access.

Any ideas appreciated.

Root might not be able to Access an OD Master.

If this is Tiger Server, Root only can affect the local Netinfo Domain. Try logging in as a Local or Diradmin instead.

Good ideas. I'll give them a shot.
