Server updates - reboot?

Kind of an elementary question but I'm new working on the server. When I run the system updates for the server, do I then restart/reboot?

Thanks
MaryAnn

Yes, after a system update, the server will need to be rebooted.

Just make sure the you inform everyone accessing that server that it will be rebooted, or perform the update after peak hours.

Some updates require a reboot, some do not.

Updates that require a reboot will indicate this when you choose to update. Updates that do not require a reboot will not.
