| Mac OS X Server install I am going to install OS X Server for the first time I have Windows Network with 2003. How do I install the software correctly and how can I join it to the network domain. I would like this to be my web server.  |

| so the server software will come installed on the xserve. you can join it to the domain with the directory access application located in the utilities folder. to setup the web server, run Server Admin from the dock on the server and select web on the left side after you auth to the server. enter the settings you want for the web server and then upload content into /Library/WebServer/Documents/ |

| Except they seem to have got rid of Directory Access for 10.5 ... dscl for joining http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306494 and man dscl for syntax

| it's still there... it's just called directory utility. same icon, same location. dscl is if you'd like to go about browsing ds nodes or reading records or creating an entry. to configure ad binding using the command line you would use dsconfigad. |
