Cyrus IMAP users loose mails.

I have this small OS X 10.4.10 mailserver running. Lately my IMAP users running Entourage are loosing mails from their inbox'es. In the server admin IMAP log i get a message like:
Nov 16 14:02:20 x-server imap[18249]: DBERROR db4: PANIC: fatal region error detected; run recovery
Nov 16 14:02:20 x-server imap[18249]: DBERROR: critical database situation
Nov 16 14:02:20 x-server master[880]: service imap pid 18249 in READY state: terminated abnormally

What to do?

Second problem:
I have a Retrospect backup program running so I can go back and restore the lost mails. My problem here is:
1:the files that i restore have a different filetype from the original: they are Unix executabel files and should be Ducument.
2:When i put the files back into the mailbox and run the reconstruct command it doesn't reinstall the files.

Please direct me to a place where i can find information to solve my problems.
