Forced Shutdown cause - 127

My G4 xserve has shutdown for the second time.

The console shows: Forced Shutdown cause - 127

It then restarted....

I cannot access it on my network list from any of the PCs this may be unrelated.

Any thoughts?

I assume this and the previous shutdown seemed at random times and without a pattern? When was the first time this happened?
-127 is or as least was PMU forced shutdown (so processor or logic board or RAM).
Do you have any peripherals connected to it (USB etc)?
Can you test the hardware (with the hardware diagnostics that came with the Xserve) or at least run memtest to rule out the RAM?

Yes,since it happened once at night about 3am it had happened at random intervals during the day. It also happened at 3am every night since. I will look into that. As for USB. I just have the USB connection for a shared monitor connected. I will look into the RAM issue as well. Thanks

Look at the logs for what is showing in console. and system.log just before the shutdowns happened, there should be some more indications of what was happening.
The issue always happening 3 AM is odd.. are there any scheduled jobs for that hour?

yea the only thing that happens then is a backup and it has had a problem because it can't always access the server because it has restarted. There must be some kind of trigger there somewhere. People access that share all day and nothing happens. There maybe a hardware issue of some kind. Thanks for your help. I will check into it more...
