      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I have upgraded to yosemite.  Now I cannot connect to a shared drive on server 2008 using the smb://x.x.x.x protocol as I could before.  Windows techs are stumped and no help.<br />
If I try to login, I am denied access to the domain, after 2 attempts.  The mac is not on the domain, just accessing the shared drive.<br />
I have another desktop setup the same and it can connect.  Makes absolutely no senses.  It is like a part of the driver has been missed in setup.<br />
Anyone else having problems sharing from...<br />

I would like to upgrade her to Mavericks and have already prepared a thumb drive with <a href="http://diskmakerx.com" target="_blank" class="externalLink" rel="nofollow">DiskMaker X</a>.  As part of the process, I would like to create a recovery partition to use in emergencies going forward.  My tentative process is<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I have an Apple Superdrive and an LG Blu-Ray burner (both internal) in my &quot;Early 2009&quot; Mac Pro 8 core system. They were working until, a few days ago, I updated to OS X 10.9 from the most recent OS X 10.8.x.<br />

Now, although they eject upon command, they don&#039;t recognize any media. When media, blank or written, is loaded into either drive, the drive spins for a few seconds. After that the Superdrive ejects the media, whereas the Blu-Ray drive just sits and does nothing.]]></content:encoded>

the wireless internet card and password lock it? Like, you need someone else to enter a password to turn the<br />
wireless back on (this would be locking wireless off to admin account). <br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Hi!  I&#039;ve got to upgrade to white, Intel-based iMacs from Snow Leopard to Mavericks.   Now that Yosemite is now out, my question is:  will I be able to upgrade to Mavericks instead of Yosemite?  The reason for upgrading to Mavericks is some dental practice software being used hasn&#039;t be certified to run on Yosemite yet but it has been certified to run on Mavericks.<br />
<br />
So, if it would be possible to upgrade from Snow Leopard to Mavericks, how would I go about doing so?<br />

My upgrade to Yosemite went fine. All application and drivers work as before. But I notice that when I do a cold boot, there is a progress bar that shows up and it takes about 90 seconds to complete and get to the login prompt.  I did not accurately time my boot up before Yosemite, so I have no basis for complaining. However, the progress bar worries me, and I know the boot time takes longer now.<br />

Used carbon copy cloner to transfer system partition and three other partitions from old (now external) drive to new internal drive.
