    Translucence

    Maybe I'm not remember but is there a way to make an entire window translucent?

    For what purposes? WindowShade X can make windows transparent on events from title bar buttons, etc.

    I just want to be able to see things like my instant messaging windows in the background without having to bring them to foreground to see what people are saying. LIke while working in IE.

    hazmat would be correct. WindowShade X is your best bet.
