IS DVD player Dyeing? Well... the questions seems stupid.. but ...Does anyone remember Xplayer (MP# player) in developer prewiew 4? it looked a lot like the DVD player we all have today in X.0 + and it was replaced by iTunes... now.. i was playing around with QuickTime 6 Pro (NOT the Beta) and it has capabilities to play DVD... so .. what is going to happen to DVD player??? is it gonna be there for us or is going to be replaced by Quicktime?
Well... my 2 cents are that in the long run QT is going to replace DVD player...and i am a little sad about it.. we have already lost Xplayer..

Dricci Dricci.. you should know y now that carracho is illegal...i don't use such thing... my QT6 comes directly from apple...as Apple seeder and Beta tester i got the prog directly from the manufacturer....

Carracho isn't illegal unless you use it for illegal activities.
And if you're an Apple Seed Tester, you're under a NDA so you are breaking the terms of the contract by talking about any seeded software you're testing here. I'm sure you know this, of course.

Dricci.. i did not published any restricted information, plus DVD feature was WELL advertized already by Apple itself during the preview.. i signed a confidential agrement and i am NOT stupid...carracho IS NOT illegal.. but all the software in there is.. you know what i ment..

Well, most NDAs are really touchy when it comes to disclosing any information before a product's official release (IE, being able to download it or place an order). From what I've heard, QuickTime doesn't support DVDs. I'd like it to be the next DVD player, I'm sure it could do better than what we have. But I haven't heard anything "official" from Apple about this. Not during the QuickTime Live "preview" of QT 6 eather, if that's what you mean.Originally posted by BBenve

And I'm not trying to "score" anything. I said nothing about scoring. That was a different person. Please read the name of the poster before trying to make it look like I want to out do you at something. I wasn't, I don't really care. I was just pointing out that you're not supposed to talk about unreleased products when you sign an NDA. Esspecially not in a public forum.
