Question Imap or pop?

I was wondering which is better for my iTools account...imap or pop. I use entourage to get my emails with and it asks me if I want it to be an imap or pop account. Which is better?

if you anticipate needing to check your mail at several locations (i.e home, work and school) use IMAP, otherwise POP might be best for you.

Unhappy

I don't think iTools supports POP, just IMAP...

Maybe you were trying to use the IMAP server address as the SMTP server address, instead of the SMTP server?

There are some advantages and disadvantages.
Apple recommends IMAP but it will work fine with POP.
I was having many problems with my accounts util i changed all to IMAP.
POP accounts are better when u want to use Junk mail filtering but are bad when you want to see your email on different machines and different lolcations. IMAP is better for managing individual folders in each account etc.
Just be sure to configure: mail.mac.com as your IMAP and smtp.yourisp.com (example) as the SMTP server.
