    Internet connection using Airport

    Ok,
I have a "snow" iBook that has an Airport Card. Yesterday, while I was surfing wireless on Internet Explorer, it stopped loading the page I was going to and went into an everlasting thing when the Internet Explorer logo at the top-right corner spins aroung over and over. I then opened Internet Connect and saw that I still had a strong Airport connection. I looked at the bottom of Internet Connect and it said that the "status is unavailabele" when I still had a strong Airport signal!
Can anyone help me with this problem???

my status is *always* unavailable. i'm using an original apple airport base station and airport card in my tibook. my guess is that the server didn't send you any data. try another website?

I have TWO airport Base Stations at my house and I think that one of them works better than the other. One is an old Base Station and the other is a new one. But, I still sometimes have problems...

    Lightbulb I got an idea.

Open the Terminal and type in the following:

ping "enter the IP address of the base station"

Where "enter the IP address of the base station" is actually =
    Airport Base Station IP address

If you get packets returned without any significant loss, then try:

    Ping www.yahoo.com

If you still get packets returned without any significant loss, you connection tot he internet is fine.

    Good Luck.
